Troubleshooting

DS-1

The DS-1 has been powered up for the first time and loaded the Initial Setup page but I do not have an IP address shown

A new DS-1 will be configured out of the box to expect a Wired Ethernet cable that connects the DS-1 to your network.

The DS-1 has been configured to use WiFi with the AD+Sign app but I still see the QR code on the connected Display

This can happen if the WiFi details, the Wireless Network Name or the Wireless Password are incorrect.

Check your WiFi details and use the AD+Sign app to repeat the Initial Setup - Using the App, using the instructions shown in the AD+Sign app.

The DS-1 has been configured using the AD+Sign app and I can see an IP address on the connected Display but the AD+Sign app is saying it cannot connect to the DS-1

In the Initial Setup - Using the App section, after you have specified your network details that will be sent to the DS-1, the DS-1 will remove the direct WiFi hotspot. At this point your mobile device will lose its direct connection to the DS-1 Wireless hotspot. The AD+Sign app now attempts to connect to the DS-1 using the new network details provided.

Your mobile device also needs to be connected to this same network. Some mobile devices may not connect to this network automatically at this step. You will need to manually ensure your mobile device is connected to the correct network using the Mobile device’s network settings.

Once you have confirmed that your mobile device is connected to the correct network, follow the instructions provided in the AD+Sign app.

The DS-1 Player is running a Slideshow on the connected display. The Slideshow or Player needs to be updated but the AD+Sign app is saying it cannot connect to the Player

The mobile device running the AD+Sign app and the DS-1 need to be on the same network as each other. Please ensure your mobile device is connected to the correct network using your mobile device’s network settings.

  • If your DS-1 is connected to your network using a wired Ethernet cable, check if this cable is connected correctly and see that the Network Status LED is illuminated or flashing.
  • If your DS-1 is connected to your network using WiFi, check that the Wireless network is available and in range of the DS-1.
  • If your Wireless network may have changed, follow the instructions in Adjusting Network Settings - App

I do not see a picture on the DS-1’s connected display

  • Check your HDMI cable link between the DS-1’s HDMI OUT port and the display is connected correctly
  • Check the DS-1 is powered on and the Power LED is illuminated
  • Check that your display has the correct HDMI input selected

If you might have manually selected a specific display resolution, this might not be compatible with the connected display. By default, the DS-1 will automatically match the display’s compatible video resolution so you can return to default settings by following the instructions in Reset To Factory Settings

The DS-1 Slideshow is using PiP but I do not see the external video source’s picture in the PiP window

  • Check that the HDMI cable link between the DS1’s HDMI IN port and the external source is connected correctly
  • Check that the external source is powered up and not in standby
The DS-1’s HDMI IN port only supports HDCP v1.x. Some video sources may try to use a higher HDCP version, especially if configured to use video resolutions above 1080p.
  • Check that your external video source is set to a video resolution of 1080p or lower.
  • If your video source gives you the option to choose a HDCP version ensure this is not set higher than HDCP v1.4.
  • You can also try restarting your external video source by turning it off, removing the mains power connector for 10 seconds and then powering it up again.

The DS-1 Player needs to have the Slideshow updated by the AD+Sign app. The app says the Slideshow has been deployed successfully to the Player but the content shown on the DS-1’s connected display is not updating

When using the AD+Sign app to deploy content to a Player, the Player needs to be in Local Mode and cannot be in Cloud Mode.

You can check and alter the Player’s mode by following the instructions in the Adjusting Settings - PIN, Name and Mode section.

My DS-1 PIN is not working, or I have forgotten my DS-1 PIN.

Is your DS-1 paired with your AD+Sign Mobile App?

Yes - It is visible in the 'My Players' list
  • Tap the Player you need to update in the 'My Players' list
  • Tap 'Configure'
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to set a new PIN
No
  • You will need to factory reset your DS-1 Player
  • Click here for instructions on how to reset your Player: Reset to Factory Settings
